"Terry, nice coupe. I drove a no.90 big block car back in '70. Maybe we'll meet at one of the vintage meets. My car is undergoing a face lift but I still get around In the mean time enjoy the site here.. Gene"

"Oddest unexpected deal I ever had happen was in N.Y., as we were coming down to take the green at the start of the feature. The flagman was in the center of the track dressed up like an Indian Chief waving the green, all the while doing back flips.…"

Gene, thanks for signing up for Open Wheel. I put the picture of Dick Good on the Supermodified fan page started by George Oldnall. I am a big fan of the old uprights from about 1959-1966 in Michigan. Unfortunately the tracks here started to phase those cars out in favor of the more popular Superstocks. I think too, when Michigan's Dick Carter (killed at Berlin) and Jimmy Nelson (killed at the Speedrome) were lost in August of 1965 that it took a lot away from those cars. Dick and Jimmy were two of the very best and I know for me it was a big blow.
It's great you saved these pictures because who knows if we would ever see them again. If you have any of Jack Conely I'm sure he would like to see them. He raced at Sandusky a lot and is still building engines at 80 years old in Brighton, Michigan. Rollie Beale usually attends the Jackson Motor Speedway reunion and that's in late October. I did see Don Good last year there too along with Wayne Landon, Art Bennett, Bob Seelman, Jim Greisley, Harold Schill and others.
Again, thanks for sharing the pics.
