- My Dad used to take me to the Minnesota State fair and watch the Sprint car races about in 1954-1961. In 1965 I bought a super from Tom Wilke. Raced that until I was Injured in a construction accident in1968. I went to the Knoxville Nats. for many years and then in 2002 I bought a 1980 Wolfweld 4 bar car and started vintage racing. I still have the car, and race it at Oskaloosa, Knoxville, Webster City, and a few other places every year. It is a good handling and fast car.

After spending about $700.00 bucks on fuel and then getting rained out, I took a pass this year. After this season, I have (for now) retired the sprint car. I bought an old Gambler and am making a Kansas type modified out of it (kind of like Fred Stewarts car). It will have a clutch because I am getting tired of pushing around the sprinter :) Don't deapair, I plan on going through the sprint car and making it really nice.
